‘Hilarious and original, Steve Rawlings
mixture of desperation and downbeat
humour steals the show. His balancing a tray
of bottles and glasses on his chin, while
giving a running commentary on his
difficulties is a classic piece of comic
business.
This is knife-edge humour which involves the
audience in sympathy for a man flogging
himself to death for a laugh, and yet
knowing that he is perfectly capable of
performing the complicated and daring
routines he has setup!’
The Times.
Steve Rawlings is a truly unique performer
who has broken down the barriers
between stand up comedy and physical
theatre. He has created a wonderfully
entertaining blend of comedy, character, and
technical ability, that keeps an audience on
the edge of their seats.
Steve’s success comes from original routines
such as furniture juggling with a chair,
table and vase of flowers (he is the only
person in the world to do this! ), setting
fire to his head, and juggling ping pong
balls with his mouth. all overlaid with
stand up comedy a comedian would be proud
of.
Steve is refreshingly different and an asset
to any show he takes part in.
‘This guy looks like he’ll be going places
so book your tickets now for a riveting
night of spectacular stunts and razor sharp
comedy. The Sun
Steve has appeared as special guest in the
West end production of ‘Sugar Babies’
alongside Mickey Rooney and Ann Miller, and
‘The Royal Variety Performance’
in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen.
He has been a big hit at comedy festivals
the world over including Arosa
(Switzerland), Cologne (Germany), Tarrega
(Spain) and Lowlands (Holland). From
which he developed ‘Steve Rawlings Live and
Unstable’ which toured and sold out
in theatres across Europe. His latest show
formerly called ‘Tossers’ now re-titled
‘Catch’ was a huge success at the Edinburgh
festival receiving rave reviews in The
Times, Le Monde, Bloomberg Press and many
others and is now in the process of
being extended into a full theatre show, to
tour later in the year.
Corporate events take up a large part of
Steve’s year as his act appeals to a much
broader audience than most other performers
and he can even perform fluently in
German, Spanish and French with other
languages to a lesser degree. This puts him
much in demand with multi national companies
as well as the English speaking
market.
Steve has appeared alongside the Top names
in British comedy such as Lee Evans,
Eddie Izzard and Al Murray and has over 80
major television appearances to his
name. The latest of which was in January
this year when he performed at The
Olympia in Paris with host Patrick Sebastien.
Other TV appearances include:
‘The Paul O’Grady Show’, ‘The Jack Dee
Show’, ‘Live at the Empire’, ‘Xchange’,
‘Saturday Night Live’, ‘You Bet’, ‘How do
they do that’, ‘The Big Stage’, “Live at
Jongleurs’,‘Le Plus Grande Cabaret Du Monde’
France,‘Un Dos Tres’ Spain,‘Levanta
Te E Ri’ Portugal, ‘Rayman is Laat’ Holland,
‘Traumtanzer’ Germany. |
